Introducing FlyRoute Omaha
FlyRoute is excited to announce the launch of FlyRoute Omaha — now providing professional drone film services for football programs across the Eastern Nebraska area.
FlyRoute Omaha will be led by Troy Tweedy and Mike Pippins, and will focus exclusively on delivering practice and game-day drone film for football and athletic programs throughout Omaha and Lincolns areas.
Troy's background as a licensed drone operator, entrepreneur, and business leader uniquely positions him to deliver FlyRoute’s core mission: help visionary athletic programs WIN more by utilizing drone technology.
We are honored to welcome Troy and Mike to the FlyRoute ownership team and excited to expand FlyRoute’s drone film services for football in the Omaha and Lincoln market.
About Troy Tweedy, President, FlyRoute Omaha

Troy Tweedy grew up in Madison, Nebraska, where early experiences in sports, school, and community shaped his commitment to hard work and connection. He has built a remarkable career defined by perseverance, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to helping teams succeed.
Troy’s career reflects a consistent pattern: stepping into challenging environments, elevating the people around him, and building systems that allow teams to thrive. His leadership style is rooted in accountability, communication, and genuine care has earned him the respect of colleagues and community members alike.
At the center of Troy’s life is his family. He is a devoted husband to Kris for 40 years. They have 2 daughters, 1 son in law and 5 grandkids . Their support and shared values guide his decisions and fuel his commitment to creating opportunities for others.
Outside of work, Troy enjoys spending time on the golf course, embracing both the challenge and the camaraderie the game offers. He is an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Nebraska Cornhusker, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his teams. He also has a passion for drones whether flying recreationally, exploring new technology, or capturing unique perspectives from above.
Troy’s blend of determination, curiosity, and loyalty continues to guide his journey, both personally and professionally.
Football remains a significant part of his life, both as a cherished memory and a current interest leading his entrepreneurial spirit to FlyRoute, partnering to launch FlyRoute Omaha location in Spring 2026 with his Son-In-Law Michael.

About Mike Pippins, VP of Operations, FlyRoute Omaha

Michael Pippins, originally from Aurora, Colorado, brings a blend of discipline, curiosity, and technical expertise to every chapter of his life. In June 2025, he and his family made the move to Lincoln, Nebraska, marking the beginning of an exciting new season rooted in opportunity and community.
Raised in Aurora, Michael graduated from Overland High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. His dedication to football earned him the opportunity to play at the Colorado School of Mines, where he strengthened his competitive drive and commitment to teamwork. Michael later transferred to Metropolitan State University of Denver, completing his degree in Biology which is a reflection of his strong work ethic and passion for understanding how things work at a deeper level.
Although his academic background is rooted in the sciences, Michael’s professional path led him into the field of IT. Today, he applies his analytical mindset, problem‑solving skills, and adaptability to support teams and navigate complex technical challenges. His ability to bridge scientific thinking with technology has become a defining strength in his career.
Family is at the heart of Michael’s life. He and his wife, Amanda, have been married for 15 years and are proud parents to three children—one daughter and two sons. Their move to Lincoln has been shaped by a shared desire for growth, connection, and new experiences together.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys flying drones, exploring new technology, and capturing unique perspectives from the sky. He’s an avid sports fan, cheering passionately for the Los Angeles Chargers and the North Carolina Tar Heels. Whether watching a game, spending time with his family, or diving into a new hobby, Michael brings the same enthusiasm and curiosity that have guided him throughout his life.
